Rader: Grants Support First Responders in 176th District

February 17, 2026

HARRISBURG – State grant funding was awarded to eight first responder companies that serve the 176th Legislative District under the PA Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) announced this week.

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, not General Fund tax revenue.

“The funding from this critical grant program will ensure our firefighters and EMS personnel have the equipment they need to do their jobs safely and effectively,” Rader said. “Our volunteer first responders work tirelessly to serve and protect our communities every day.”

Grants awarded to companies that serve 176th District are:

• Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company - $15,105.
• Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company - $12,220.
• Lehigh Valley Health Network Emergency Medical Services - $15,000.
• Pocono Mountain Regional EMS - $14,533.
• Pocono Summit Volunteer Fire Company - $13,044.
• Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company - $14,075.
• Tunkhannock Township Volunteer Fire Company - $12,838.
• West End Fire Company of Brodheadsville - $16,136.

Funding is contingent on recipients filing their grant agreements with the Office of State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). All companies that apply and meet the OSFC's requirements are eligible to receive funding but must file a grant agreement to do so.
